Short example
A campaign brought in $2,000.00 across 40 orders. Campaign costs total $680.00 (ads, creative, software, samples), variable order costs $740.00, and fees ~$212.00. Net profit ≈ $368.00 on an 18% margin.
All calculations are estimates based on average platform fees. Real profits may vary depending on category, ads, and shipping.

How to use this calculator
- Enter your numbers in each field above — the calculator updates instantly as you type, so there's nothing to submit.
- Use your real figures when you have them, or sensible estimates while you're planning. If a field doesn't apply, leave it at zero.
- Compare the results, then change one input at a time to see how each lever (price, cost, fees, volume) moves the outcome.
Formula
Total campaign cost = Ads + Creative + Influencer + Software + Samples + Other · Fees = Revenue × Fee% + Fixed × Orders · Net profit = Revenue − Campaign cost − (Product + Packaging + Shipping) × Orders − Fees · ROI = Profit ÷ Campaign cost
Worked example
$2,000 revenue, 40 orders, $680 campaign costs, $18.50/order variable, 10% + $0.30 fees.
- Campaign cost = $680
- Variable = 18.50 × 40 = $740
- Fees = 200 + 12 = $212
- Profit = 2000 − 680 − 740 − 212 = $368
Answer: ≈ $368 net campaign profit (18.4% margin, 54% ROI)
How it works
Campaign 'success' is easy to overstate. Layering every real cost — ads, creative, samples, product, packaging, shipping, and fees — is the only way to know whether a promotion added or drained profit.
How to interpret your results
- Dollar values are shown per sale, per order, or per item unless a result is explicitly labelled monthly, weekly, or daily.
- Percentages (margin, ROI, conversion rate) are easier to compare across products and price points than raw dollars — use them when you benchmark.
- A positive result means you're ahead after the costs and fees you entered. A negative result means the current numbers don't work — change a lever (raise price, cut a cost, lower ad spend) and recalculate.
- Treat the output as a planning estimate, not a guarantee. Fees, taxes, and conversion rates shift over time — re-run the numbers whenever a key input changes.
Common mistakes
- Counting revenue as success without subtracting fulfillment costs.
- Forgetting one-off costs (creative, influencer fees, samples) that ads reports don't include.
- Using ROAS as a stand-in for profit.

FAQ
- What costs should I include in campaign cost?
- Everything you wouldn't have spent otherwise: ads, creative, influencer/affiliate payouts, campaign-only tools, and samples or promo materials.
- Is campaign break-even the same as campaign profit?
- No. Break-even asks how many orders are needed to recover cost. Campaign profit asks whether you already recovered it and by how much.
- Does this work for Etsy, Shopify, eBay, Amazon, and POD?
- Yes — it's platform-neutral. Enter your platform's fee % and any fixed transaction fee.
